We had a wonderful time. Our hotel was very nice, we has a suite, so that was cool. Friday night after we got there we had dinner at ESPN Zone. If you've never been to one, GO NOW! It was great. The food was really good, but the best part was the seats. We got to sit in huge, overstuffed leather recliners. That's right, recliners. They had a little tray table attached to put your food on. And, there was a 15 foot HDTV to watch, not to mention about 20 smaller tv's surrounding it. So we got to watch the Sox while we ate kicked back in recliners. Great! Then, on Saturday we went to see the Sox kill the Braves. I got to see Papi hit a home run, so I was in heaven. It was so much fun. It had been a long time since I had been to an MLB game. We had a blast. There we actually a TON of Red Sox fans so that was cool too. We were all chanting "let's go Red Sox" and all the Braves fans were booing us. :)
As a side note, although, it is (gulp) more important than the Sox, congrats to John and Leia who are now officially man and wife! I love you both very much and I am so, so happy for you. I can't wait to see you both!

An itchy dog and such

So Nico has allergies. Unlike in people, however, a dogs allergies causes skin irritation and itching instead of runny nose and itchy eyes. Nico's is mostly on her feet and muzzle. So, she is ALWAYS chewing on her feet. It drives Sean and I CRAZY. It also makes her feet raw and infected. So, after trying every drug available we decided to spend mucho dinero and have her allergy tested. Turns out she's very allergic to Short and Giant Ragweed, Elm and Oak trees and three types of common grasses. So, we ordered hypo sensitization shots which have still not come in. In the meantime we are treating the current skin infection she has developed with antibiotics and Prednisone. For those who don't know Pred is a steroid. Steroids make you very hungry, very thirsty and make you have to urinate all the time. So, needless to say she isn't itching right now but she's drinking like a fish, eating like a pig and peeing like a racehorse. :)
I can't figure out if she was more miserable itching or like this.

Shopping

Mom and I went shopping today for dresses to wear to the reception. I had forgotten how much I hated shopping for myself. I like to shop for shoes and purses, but clothes shopping makes me crazy! I can NEVER find anything that fits right or that's long enough. I finally found a pants outfit that I think will work well. I haven't worn a dress since my own wedding, and I guess there's no reason to start now. :)
In other news, since Sean and I don't get to go to Cyprus for the actual wedding, we had to find another way to spend our June 17th so we wouldn't be thinking about not being in Cyprus all day. So, we are going to Atlanta to see the Braves play the RED SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never been so excited in all my life! It will also be on ESPN, so for those of you not at John's wedding check it out. Maybe you'll see me. I'm going to make an absurd sign so I can get on TV :)
GO SOX!

Post op

Well, I am still alive. Let's all say a prayer for Big Papi.

I don't get it

Sean and I went to Marshall's the last night (for those of you who don't know it's like a cheaper TJ Maxx) to get him a new pair of pants. A lot of times when I am in a store I notice how customers treat the people who work there. I guess it comes from being in the service business most of my working life. Anyway, I am always amazed at the silly things people get upset over, and last night was no exception. For anyone who has ever been to a store like TJ Maxx, Marshall's or Ross, you know you dig for what you want, and you take what you can get, and you're grateful they even had it. Well apparently no one told this to the lady at the register beside me. She was purchasing some perfume, I couldn't tell what kind, but apparently it would have been very expensive in a department store. Well, being that this was Marshall's, someone else had opened the perfume to smell it b/c they don't have testers. Now, this woman was telling the manager that it looked to her that someone had opened it and sprayed a spray or two of this perfume, therefore she should get it for 1/2 off. Most of their perfumes are already 50-60% off department store prices, but apparently if it has a spray or two missing from the bottle, that's just not good enough. I was actually mortified for this woman b/c of how she was acting about this stupid bottle of perfume. I just don't get it. Her ridiculous rant got her nowhere. Yes, the customer is usually right, but when you are abusive to the staff of a store or restaurant you can easily lose that privilege. The best way to get what you want in a situation like that is to be nice and to understand if a store or restaurant cannot give you the discount or what ever you are asking for.
Anyway!!!! Speaking of rants, sorry to go off on my own. I just can't understand the world we live in or the people in it sometimes!

Try try again

Okay, so I am going to try to get writing on here again. I am making a goal for weekly updates, so check back once a week to see if I am keeping up.
Right now life is getting hectic. Sean is working long hours b/c it's tax season and we are very short staffed at my work right now so my hours have gone up as well. I feel like we're being stretched a little too thin.
Speaking of my work, it's possible that I'll be leaving in August to work at another clinic, with better opportunities for me. But, I would just like to ask you all to pray that I make the right decision. I feel a certain amount of responsibility to finish what I have started at the clinic I am at now, but I know this other job would be better for us money and time wise. I'll keep you posted on how it's going.
On another note, it's Easter, so mom, where's my Cadbury egg!?
And, I am missing John! It's so weird to think that he is half a world away. I hope all is going well for him and Leia, but I wish they were living here in the states! I am terrible at this. I just don't ever seem to have time! And really not much has happened. With all the work and school, we don't have time for interesting things to happen to us! :)
I did have to get a root canal last week. No fun! I thought it was going to hurt but it really wasn't that bad. Not that I would want to have them done on a regular basis, but it was ok. Let's see...what else has happened. Oh, we had a Super Bowl party for me and Sean and John. That was fun. We made lots of food and got cupcakes shaped like a football. And I was rooting for the Steelers, so I was very happy that they won. Other than that life has been a daily routine of wake, eat, work, eat, sleep. But I'll try to write more often anyway, especially for my grandma's sake. :) (I love you!)

Long time no see

Here is the first picture we have successfully resized to fit our blog. Life is very ,very busy and I haven't had much time to blog. Surprisingly though, not much has happened. Just work that's keeping me busy. We recently had two employees who moved out of state, so we are short handed and I've had to work more than usual. I guess then only noteworthy story is that we did have a man FREAK out the other day when his dog was hit by a car. Understandably he was sad, but this went way beyond that. He was screaming how he was going to kill the man who hit his dog. He was knocking things off the counters and walls and basically throwing a tantrum like a small child. It was very scary and made it hard for me and the other Tech to do our job of trying to save his dog's life. Finally our boss got to work and escorted him outside. Very creepy.

Poor John

Well, Leia went back to Cyprus yesterday. We all miss her already! Sean and I really enjoyed getting to know Leia, and hanging out with her and John. I can't believe they are going to live so far away!!!! :( Oh well, I guess it will give us a reason to travel to Europe. And since neither Sean or I have ever been there, it will be cool to go. But, it would be much nicer if they just lived 30 minutes down the road in Cleveland.
Well, it's football playoff time and since I lost a little wager to Sean, I have to watch three football games without complaining. :( What was I thinking!? We went to look at bridesmaids dresses, etc. Well, at the end of our outing we went to the Fresh Market and I got an incredibly wonderful, dark, dark, dark chocolate bar. Last night after dinner I ate about 1/3 of it. But, stupid me, I forgot about it and left it on the coffee table. Needless to say as soon Sean and I left for work this morning, Nico ate it. When I came home at lunch the wrapper was shredded all over the floor. THIS IS NOT GOOD NEWS! Not only is chocolate not good for dogs, but the darker the chocolate the worse it is! So since I wasn't sure if she ate it all or if Oskar got some too, I had to jump back in the car with both of the dogs and drive 30 minutes back to work. When I got there I had to give them both peroxide (to make them vomit) only to find out poor Oskar didn't eat any. Nico, however, puked up 3 piles of chocolate. :( Eww. Then, I had to give her activated charcoal, which I ended up wearing a lot of. Then, to top it off, she got carsick on the way home tonight and puked some more, all over my back seat. Lesson? Don't eat chocolate if you have a dog.

Happy New Year!

Sean and I didn't really do much for New Years. Actually I fell asleep on the couch at 11:30ish.
:) I feel like an old woman! I can't believe I didn't stay up to greet 2006. That is the first time since I was a small child I didn't stay up until midnight.
As far as resolutions go, I am going with the old stand by of eating better/exercising more. I use it almost every year, and it works for a few months, but this year I am hoping to stick to it. I am at my heaviest I have ever been right now, so I really have to do something!!!!
I had to go to work today, but Sean was off, and is off again tomorrow. UNFAIR! But, I get off early on Wednesday, so I am going wedding dress shopping with Mom and Leia. I am excited, that's totally my element! It will make me wish I was marrying Sean all over again. I loved all the shopping and planning that led up to our wedding. I am happy to be a part of that with Leia since I won't get to go to the wedding. :(
Well, since I have to be at work at 7am, I had better go to sleep! I hope everyone is doing well in the New Year.
Oh, a quick note about all the pictures I keep saying will be on here soon. We have been so busy with all the Christmas celebrations we have had! Not that I am complaining! We have gotten lots of great gifts and I really enjoy all the different traditions that go along with each celebration. Last night we had the big "Murray Christmas." And although I love all of my family and all the time we have spent together, the "Murray Christmas" is what really signifies Christmas for me. We had a wonderful time together last night, even though it is still hard without my Grandpa. I was so glad to have Leia with us. She is wonderful! I am so happy for her and John. I hope we didn't scare her off though. Our family can get a little crazy at times! :) This morning Mom, Dad, John and Leia came to our house to open another round of presents. Even the puppies got stocking stuffers. As you can see in the picture Oskar loved his presents! So, tonight after our big meal, we'll go to my Grandma and Grandpa Duncan's and open more gifts! Then, all our celebrations will be done! The next step is to go shopping tomorrow to spend all that $$$$. I can't wait! And Sean has gotten very close to getting all he needs for his HDTV. SO, he is very happy also. I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas. We love you all!

Weldon-Pasquale Christmas

We had Christmas with Kevin, Debbie, Steve and Trish :) on Saturday night. It was fun. Instead of a big dinner we had appetizers and dessert, which are the best parts anyway. Sean and I put our new digital camera to work taking lots of pictures I hope to have up on here soon and also a video. We got lots of good gifts and hopefully gave some good ones too.
I am getting very excited for the Duncan/Murray/Weldon Christmas now too! I am also very excited about meeting Leia on Friday. I am sure John is a little nervous since I don't have the best reputation of getting along well with girls, but I think I will love Leia because John loves her. I just want him to be happy.
Hopefully Leia won't be too overwhelmed by our crazy family Christmas. We have so many traditions and crazy family members ( you know who you are), I am sure it can be kind of scary, just ask Sean! He is used to it now and looks forward to it, but I think the first year he was a little freaked out. :)

This week is finals for Sean, so he's pretty much been locked away in our second bedroom for 2 straight days. He always makes good grades, but he tends to put off actually studying until the last possible second. In fact, I am pretty sure he never even came to bed last night! I think he studied all night long!!! Poor guy! We'll have to go out and celebrate when he's all done. Anyway, everyone's prayers for him at this time are appreciated. :)
I have finally gotten serious about my Christmas shopping, and I am almost done! I knew if I just put my mind to it I would get it done quickly. Only 3 more gifts to get. OH, and I have to get stuff for Sean's stocking and the pups too. That's right, our dogs get a stocking. :) Usually it's filled with bones and treats but sometimes they get toys too. Then, they spend Christmas trying to take each others toy away. It's quality entertainment.
Survivor will be over this week, so I am not sure what Sean and I will do with all our spare time! In case anyone else watches it, we are hoping for Danni to win! The new season of 24 (YAY) does start in January though, so that gives us something to look forward to. I can't wait to see what happens there. It's gonna be great.

Only 21 more shopping days...

...and we still haven't bought a single present! Usually my Christmas shopping is done around December 1st, but this year we are very behind. Luckily we do a lot of our shopping online, so most of it I can get done in one fell swoop. :)
We put our tree up on Friday night, and it is looking pitiful. The first year we were married we could only afford a very sad 5 ft tree from Wal Mart, and we just haven't replaced it. It's almost to the point where no amout of fluffing can hide the bare patches. But our ever growing collection of ornaments is looking great this year. I really like the blown glass ornaments so we are slowly but surely accumulating more of them. This year I got one shaped like a football for Sean and one shaped like a shoe for me. :) They're perfect!

Moving On Up

Getting back into the swing of things at work has been difficult. One thing that made it a little easier is that I found out yesterday that I will soon be getting a promotion. :) YAY! As most of you know I was a member of management at my old clinic. My official title was Outpatient Coordinator. There is a girl at Wolftever who is in that position now, but she is moving to Fort Bragg, NC in January to be with her husband who is stationed there. When she leaves my boss has asked me to take her place. So, I am very excited. One of my main adjustment issues when starting my new job was going from being a boss to being no one. So, now that will be changing so I think my job will be more fullfilling for me. Hopefully it will bring with it a big fat raise too! Sean and I had gone out to eat on Thursday night and then I had gone to Cleveland on Friday and when I got home I realized I didn't have my wallet. I tore apart the house and called the places I had eaten at and no one had it. I thought I had left it at O'Charley's where Sean and I had gone to dinner and someone had picked it up and taken it. Either that or someone had watched Sean and I leave our house to walk the dogs and then came in and saw it on the table and taken it. (Which was a scary, if somewhat unrealistic, thought) I was so mad that I was going to have to get a new check card, drivers license, and most of all social security card. And I was worried about identity theft. I also lost a lot of McKay credit, which was upsetting to me too! :) Needless to say I prayed that someone at O'Charley's would find it in some dark corner and return it to me. When I got home from work yesterday, Sean had my wallet! It seems it fell out of my purse in the parking lot of our apartment and someone turned it into the office. My check card, drivers license, and social security card were all there. But, someone had take my McKay credit! Can you believe that, they left my check card, but kept some credit to buy used books with. That was God keeping our finances and my identity safe! That's right, we RUSHED home to watch SURVIVOR. I don't know what it is about reality TV, but I can't stop watching it! It's like watching a train wreck. You don't really want to , but you just can't look away. Especially Survivor. Until this year I had only seen the Survivor in Australia. But earlier this year on OLN they stared replaying all the past years of Survivor. We are now up to year 4 and we are watching the new one in Guatemala. What's wrong with us!!!!! We even had a discussion at dinner last night about who should be voted off and who we want to win. I just can't believe I have become a Survivor groupie. :( It's not just survivor though, I seem drawn to all reality TV, no matter how ridiculous the premise.

Computer Issues

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are having MAJOR computer problems so this may be the last entry for a while. For most of the day I watched a marathon of I love the 80's. In case you haven't see it, it's great! It talks all about pop culture in the 80's and they interview celebrities about different things to do with the 80's. It brings back memories. I had totally forgotten about Monchichi dolls (see picture), My Buddy and Kid Sister, and The Noid! Just a fun day reliving my childhood.
We also went to McKay today. For those who don't know, McKay is a huge used music/book/dvd/video game store. We spend a lot of time there. :) Tonight Sean was selling a bunch of cd's b/c he is trying to save up for an X-Box 360. Boys and their video games. We also got a book on CD to listen to on our trip to Michigan. It's a long drive so we thought that would be something to entertain us. We got The Street Lawyer by John Grisham. I usually enjoy his books so I hope this one will be good.Well, it's off to bed for me I hope everyone has a great night.

Go Gamecocks!

Dead Tired

Well, as you can probably tell by the name of yesterday's blog (it was called Tuesday night, but yesterday was Wednesday!) I am exhausted! (hence the picture of Nico, doing what I wish I was doing right now) Work has been tough lately. A couple of people have been out sick so everyday there's a shortage and we are working extra hard to keep up. I can't believe how worn out I am. Lucky me, after tomorrow, I have 4 days off in a row!!! That never happens, so I am VERY excited. Too bad most of it will be spent cleaning up around this apartment that I have neglected lately. :(
I keep trying to get Sean to post on here but he says I am better at it and he'll just tell me stuff to put on here. The surgery technicians have been gone since Monday and I have been taking over their duties. I have really enjoyed it, b/c once I get licensed that's what I want to do. It has been a good learning experience, but VERY tiresome. I was having to do all my normal duties too so I have been exhausted at night.
Sean got back a major project from his English class today...and he made and A! (I never doubted that he would, but he was worried.) His teacher even said she wanted permission to use one of his papers as an example to future classes! He was flattered and very proud. And he should be! He always worries he won't do good enough work, but he always does! I am so proud of him!
We went to work out again tonight. Sean is burning an average of 300 calories per workout and I am at about 200. We spend 20 minutes on the bike and 20 minutes on the treadmill. Sean has already lost 4 pounds this week. It feels good when we finish...A real sense of accomplishment. I haven't been good at remembering to exercise in a long time, so I am proud of myself for working at it so hard! I am proud of Sean too. Hopefully we''l melt the pounds away!

Sunday Dinner

Today Sean and I went to my Grandma Duncan's house to eat Sunday dinner with my grandparents. Yum! Somehow, no matter what food is being served, it always tastes better when it's cooked by a grandma. I don't think my whole diet and exercise thing was helped out by my lunchtime indiscretions, but who could turn down mashed potatoes with tons of milk and butter in them? Or roast with gravy? Or fried okra? (okay, I am sure some of you would turn that down, but I love it!) Or homemade cornbread with a perfect golden crust! Not to mention the bubbling peach cobbler. ::sigh:: I'll have to spend some extra time in the workout room tonight! Oh, but it was worth it! I don't ever cook like that, so we were both very happy and very full.
The rest of the day has consisted of football. Of all the sports Sean is, shall we say, obsessed with, football is one I can't get into. I don't know what it is but I just can't enjoy it. I would watch Baseball 24/7 and basketball is fun to watch too, especially the Pistons in the playoffs. But Football makes me crazy. And, it just so happens to be Sean's very favorite sport. So, I usually end up reading a book and doing laundry on Sunday, because I know he'll be glued to the couch for most of the day. Maybe one day I can learn to like football too. I am sure Sean would love that!

Babies, Babies Everywhere

Two women at my work today had to go pick up their children from daycare and bring them to work. 3 children ranging from 3 months to 4 years running around a vet's office. Probably not that safe. But, if their kids are at daycare for more than 9 hours in a day they have to pay $15 for each additional 30 minutes their kids are left at the daycare! To me, that is outrageous. I already knew how expensive diapers and formula were, but childcare is a ripoff!!! Mom, you may have to retire before I can have kids so they can stay with Grandma!!! :)
In other news, Sean just got back from workout #2. I am happy for him b/c he really seems to enjoy it. Hopefully I will get home in time from work to go with him on his next workout. I know it will be easier for us if we do it together and hold each other accountable.

Weight Watcher

As some of you may know, it's hard to stay slim after you get married. Sean and I have been struggling with weight issues for a long time. We just love food too much to give it up and we feel we don't have time for exercise. Well, hopefully that is about to change. After living here for 2 months, we finally got a key to the fitness room. Sean went for the first time today while I was at lunch and surprisingly, loved the workout. He said he felt energized and relaxed. That makes me so happy! If we can get to where we like to work out and exercise we'll want to do it more and more, so maybe some of our "Newlywed 20-50" will come off! So, hopefully this picture will be a "before" to remind you of how we used to look. And we you see us next we'll be looking much better!
On another note, Sean got his mid term grades today...ALL A'S!!!!!! Yay for him! It was a tough day. Actually, work is always tough. Simply because of the hours I have to work. I go into work at 7am and I get off of work at 6:30pm. I do get lunch from 12-2, but that doesn't help. I would much rather have a normal lunch and work a normal 8 hour day. It's really hard b/c I always go to bed around 10 and since it takes me almost 30 minutes to get home in the evenings, I only have 3 hours between getting home and going to bed! That's not a lot of time to do laundry, dishes, cooking, etc and try to spend time with Sean. I like my job, but it's really taking a toll on me! Sorry to complain so much...I just had to vent! But I am very thankful that God provided this job for me when we were in such need! I keep telling myself I can handle it until Sean graduates. Then, I plan on going back to school so I can become a licensed technician, and hopefully make more money and get better hours!

Our first posting

Hello everyone! I hope you all will enjoy this blog. We'll try to write most everyday so you all can keep up with everything that is going on in our family. Keep checking back.
Today, Sean is at school and I am home with the kids. (aka Oskar and Nico) I had a tooth pulled yesterday, so it's not much of a fun day off for me. I can only eat mashed potatoes, jello and soup. :( What I wouldn't give for a hamburger! But, it's much better than the toothache I had for the last week. I have never had a toothache before so I was totally unprepared for the pain. I can't imagine what could hurt worse. It was awful!
Well, it's almost time for the holidays and Sean and I are very excited. We really look forward to this time of year because we get to see our families and spend so much time with them. I am very excited that we may get to go to Michigan for Thanksgiving this year. We don't get to see everyone up there nearly enough. As you all know Erika, Sean's sister, is having a baby soon, so we can't wait to see her and hopefully our new nephew too! We are very excited for Erika and Dave.
